The World Peace Academy Awards are renowned honors bestowed by the United Nations on those who have distinguished themselves in the realms of professionalism and international peace through creative and academic conferences around the world. They are given out every two years. The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSCO), the United Nations Commission for Economic Development (UNCED), the International Association of Educators for World Peace (IAEWP), the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), and the United Nations International Cooperation Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) present the award.
